The curtains part again
Morning has dawned
The hunger hits again
But no one's home
A lonely walk down the stairs
Into the icy depths below
She holds hope close again
But no one's home
Sometimes she starts to wonder
About a land far, far away
She could leave this life behind
And the words she wants to say
The bus has come again
It honks its horn
She locks the door again
Because no one's home
The aisle is long and wide
Their eyes stare deep inside
There's no point in crying
No one's home
Sometimes she starts to shiver
From the judging, staring, hating
She's holding hope inside her
But she's suffocating
Sometimes she starts to shake
So abandoned by fate
Hope is clinging fast
But it's too late
